Hey everyone. Its me Nikki here! Im excited to be posting my first blog on Jasmine and Nikki's Thought of the Day. If you have any questions you can email me at fireybubbles1@aol.com

Today I sat around mourning the loss of my sister. I've been missing her a lot lately. It seems like when things begin to get easier everything just falls back apart. While sitting around missing her I wrote this poem:
I sit here with tears in my eyes
wanting to break down and just cry
Nobody gets what I'm going through
And it seems that i have no one to turn to

I still wonder what I did wrong
Why I deserve to sit her and long;
For the love of my sister that is now gone

What did I do to deserve this life?
Why do I have to suffer night after night
No one's here to pick up the pieces
So I sit here with tears in my eyes,
Waiting to break down and just cry

Then God spoke to my heart and sent me a bible verse that really helped me. It was Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under heaven
a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain,
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.

With this verse I realized that God's plan is bigger than us. He lets us know that there is a time for everything. And now I realize that it was just my sister's time to go. She was able to live 21 years here on this earth and now she has gone home to be with her heavenly father. I don't have to worry anymore about her. For anyone who has ever had a death in their family I hope and pray that these verses will really help them out. If you put all your faith in God he will surely help you through your hard times. And remember to CAST ALL YOUR CARES UPON THE LORD! xoxoxox Nikki

September 6 - Thought of the Day (Jasmine's)

Zephaniah 3:17 - "The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing."

This particular verse helps me when I feel alone. The first time I was presented with this verse was actually back in April of 06. Coincidentally, it was the night before I lost my beloved Spencer. My mentor, Ms. Connie, had prayed it in her prayer for God's will to be done in that situation. I still don't know why it wasn't His will to heal my beloved son but I will find out in His time. For now, I am just extremely thankful that I was able to hold my angel for almost 4 whole months and that I can still call myself his mother. I don't think anyone in this world is more proud to have had such an amazing son as I am. I love him now more than EVER and have reconnected with God in an attempt to find His will for my life and His reasoning behind why my beloved little boy was taken from me.

The next part of this comes from Psalm 23. Psalm 23 is quite short but in it God talks about loving us right where we are. God created each of us and knows us better than we know ourselves. Don't try to hide from him because he will find you. Just trust in him to show you the next step of finding His will for your life while you ask Him to love you where you are.

That's all I have for now.

Introduction

So this was originally my idea to share a "thought of the day" with everyone, but then I looked for a little help and couldn't help but enlist the help of my most AMAZING BEST FRIEND NIKKI!! Nikki has been there for me through so many problems in my life and I never had a sister but she's been the closest thing I've had so that's why I asked her to partner with me on this venture.

The thought of the day might be scriptural or it might just be an idea we had for the day that we thought might help others. I, Jasmine, hope that some of these will help others as they have helped us through some hard times.
